AI Content Inspector

OPSWAT AI Content Inspector is a content verification engine that checks the documents and images entering your workflow not for viruses, but for whether they were generated by artificial intelligence or tampered with. Traditional security software asks whether a file is malicious and cannot judge whether its content is genuine; this engine combines AI analysis with digital forensic methods to tell apart forged invoices, manipulated paperwork and deepfake images.

In digitalised business processes the threat is no longer only malware: fraud carried out with "virus-free but forged" documents is just as costly. When the authenticity of incoming paperwork is checked before it ever enters the workflow, cases such as fraudulent payment instructions and altered contracts are caught without depending on the human eye. Because the verdict is recorded, later reviews can trace back why a document was accepted or rejected.

The engine first normalises the file and validates its metadata (including EXIF), then weighs visual forensic signals, textual patterns and document structure together to return an allow, flag, block or route-for-review verdict with a confidence score. Its main capabilities are detection of AI-generated images and text, invoice and receipt fraud screening, and detection of Google SynthID watermarks. As part of the MetaDefender platform it works alongside existing file security layers without a separate pipeline, and can run in the cloud, on-premises or in air-gapped environments.
